Shipping Policy

Sellers arrange and pay for shipping logistics. On-platform checkout is not yet available during Beta — buyers and sellers coordinate shipping through ModsMarketplace messaging. When checkout launches, shipping costs will be shown at checkout. This policy explains expectations for both sides.

Checkout is not yet live

On-platform checkout and payments are not yet available during Beta. The shipping expectations below describe how orders will work once payments launch. Until then, buyers and sellers should coordinate shipping through ModsMarketplace messaging.

Seller-Arranged Shipping

When a listing offers shipping, the seller is responsible for packing, labeling and handing the package to the carrier within their stated handling time. Sellers choose their preferred carrier unless otherwise agreed with the buyer.

Tracking Requirements

Tracking is required for every shipped order. Sellers must provide a tracking number through the order so the buyer can follow the shipment. Orders without tracking are not considered complete.

Insurance and Signature Recommendations

  • High-value parts should be insured for their full sale value.
  • Signature confirmation is recommended for items over $250 and required for freight shipments.
  • Keep the carrier receipt and photos of the packed item as proof of shipment condition.

Packaging Standards

Parts must be packed to survive transit. Use rigid boxes, bubble wrap or foam, and prevent movement inside the box. Protect fragile finishes (carbon, polished wheels, painted panels) from contact damage. Reuse original packaging only if it is still structurally sound.

Oversized Items

Wheels, bumpers, exhaust systems, body panels and similar items require oversized or freight handling.

  • Wheels: ship in wheel-specific boxes or palletized for sets; protect the lip and face.
  • Bumpers & body panels: pack with edge protection and avoid stacking stress on mounting tabs.
  • Exhaust systems: protect against bending; disassemble where possible.
  • Palletized freight: strap securely and shrink-wrap for large or multi-piece shipments.

Local Pickup

When a listing offers local pickup, the buyer and seller arrange the handoff through on-platform messaging.

  • Only the approximate pickup area is shown — exact addresses are never published and should be shared carefully.
  • Meet in a safe, public location when possible.
  • Inspect the part thoroughly before completing the transaction.
  • Use the on-platform pickup confirmation rather than off-platform payment.

Inspection During Pickup

For local pickup, the inspection happens in person at handoff. Once the buyer confirms pickup on-platform, the transaction is considered complete. Confirm part numbers, condition and fitment before confirming.

Never pay off-platform

If a seller asks you to pay through Venmo, CashApp, Zelle, wire transfer or cryptocurrency outside ModsMarketplace, do not proceed and report the listing. Off-platform payments have no protections.
