Returns & Claims

ModsMarketplace helps resolve disputes fairly. This policy explains which transactions are eligible and how claims work.

Claims system is in development

A full held-payment and automated claims system is in development. During Beta, disputes are handled case by case through our moderation team and, where applicable, your payment provider’s protections. Do not rely on automatic refunds until the claims system is live.

Which Transactions Are Eligible

Return eligibility depends on how the transaction was completed, the delivery method, and whether the item was sold as-is. The strongest eligibility applies to shipped items that arrive not as described, counterfeit, or with fitment that contradicts verified listing data.

“Not as Described” Claims

If an item materially differs from the listing — wrong part, undisclosed damage, different condition, missing components — you may open a dispute. Provide photos of the received item, the listing description, and any correspondence.

Fitment-Related Disputes

If a listing carried a verified-fitment badge and the part does not fit the verified chassis, you may be eligible for a return. Seller-provided fitment without a verified badge is a shared responsibility — confirm fitment with the seller before buying. Listings clearly marked “Fitment Unknown” or “Fits With Modification” are not eligible for fitment-only returns.

Buyer-Remorse Exclusions

Changing your mind, ordering the wrong part despite accurate fitment data, or no longer wanting the item are not covered. Returns are for misrepresentation and fitment failures, not regret.

Evidence Requirements

  • Photos of the item as received, including packaging and any damage.
  • The part number or identifying marks where relevant.
  • The shipping label and tracking information.
  • Records of your on-platform conversation with the seller.

Claim Deadlines

Disputes should be opened as soon as an issue is discovered and no later than the inspection window shown on the order. Disputes raised well after delivery may be harder to resolve.

Return-Shipping Responsibility

If a claim is accepted because the item was not as described or was counterfeit, the seller generally covers return shipping. If the claim is not accepted or the return is due to buyer remorse, the buyer covers return shipping.

Refund Timing

Once a return is approved, refunds are issued through the original payment method. Timing depends on the payment provider and is not instant. During Beta, refunds are coordinated manually and may take longer.

Items Sold As-Is

Listings explicitly marked as-is are sold in their current condition with all disclosed defects. They are not eligible for condition-based returns, but remain eligible if the item is counterfeit or materially misrepresented.

Before the Claims System Is Operational

While the automated held-payment and claims system is being completed, protect yourself by: confirming part numbers and fitment in writing, paying only through the platform, keeping all messages on-platform, and photographing items on arrival. If something goes wrong, report it through the dispute tool and our team will help.
